Capstone Internship

Finance Intern for Medasource
At Medasource, I work with the finance team and support various tasks related to expenses and payroll. Most of my work involves using systems like ADP, Concur, and Bullhorn to verify information, compare receipts, and ensure everything is accurate. I also help organize data and support different projects the team is working on.
Primary Responsibilities and Projects
-
Reviewed and compared expense reports in Concur, making sure receipts, dates, and amounts matched before approval.
-
Assisted with processing consultant expense reports by checking spending limits and making sure policies were followed.
-
Updated and managed placement and project information in Bullhorn.
-
Organized and tracked expense data in spreadsheets and saved receipts by employee name and week-ending date to keep records accurate and easy to find.

Learning Objectives and Outcomes
During my internship, I learned a lot about how the finance side of a company operates, especially in a consulting-based organization. I was expected to be detail-oriented and accurate when working with financial information, such as reviewing expense reports and checking receipts. I also had to learn how to use different systems like Concur, ADP, and Bullhorn, which helped me understand how payroll, expenses, and project data are managed.
Throughout my internship, I met these expectations by carefully reviewing information, staying organized, and asking questions when I was unsure. I worked on tasks like comparing expense reports to receipts, organizing data, and supporting different team projects. Over time, I became more comfortable with the systems and more confident in my work. This experience helped me improve my attention to detail and gave me a better understanding of how financial processes support a company’s overall operations.
BULLHORN
Approving and ending placements
An example of a tool I used during my internship was Bullhorn, where I helped review and approve consultant placements and ensure they were properly ended in the system. This helped keep records accurate and made sure placements were tracked correctly from start to finish.

SAP CONCUR
Creating and approving expenses
An example of a tool I used during my internship was SAP Concur, where I helped approve expense reports for consultants and internal employees. This ensured expenses were accurate, followed company policies, and were properly recorded for reimbursement and billing purposes.
